Q1. What are the advantages and disadvantages of approaching environment issues
through a rights framework? Evaluate the role of environmental rights in the
overall landscape of environmental protection and human rights.
OR
“Economists see a world economy that has grown by leaps and bounds over
the last half-century but ecologists see growth based on the burning of vast
qualities of cheap fossils which is destabilizing the climate”. Critically examine
the above statement in the light of the social and economic effect of the
environmental pollution.

Q2. “The Special Economic Zones which is posing a big threat to the farmers and
agriculture sector is a completely anti-people and anti-environment scheme”.
Explain the above issue highlighting the positive and negative aspect of it.

What are the salient features of the World Summit on Sustainable Development
(2002)? Discuss in detail.

Q4. “The polluting industries are absolutely liable to compensate for the harm
caused by them to the villagers in the affected area, to the soil and to the
underground water”. Examine the above statement with the help of various case
laws.
OR
“The State is the trustee of all natural resources. The state as a trustee is under
a legal duty to protect the natural resources, there resources meant for public
use cannot be converted into private ownership”. Explain the above statement
with the help of various case laws.
