II. BACKGROUND/ SITUATION ANALYSIS

The National election is fast approaching and voters are accountable of


participating in the electoral process. The campaign aims to make people aware of
the importance of participation in the national electoral process because the future
of the nations lies from them. Fair and transparent election is the fundamental
element of democracy and citizen influence and participation are the key to
successful and peaceful elections. The residents of Bawi will be participating in
this campaign and survey. They will be given opportunities to examine the
candidates through checking their background, performances and promises.

III. PROJECT OBJECTIVES

 To enhance voter’s awareness about electoral process


 To conduct survey for the national election
 To provide opportunities for democratic control
 To develop awareness and civic responsibility
 To promote fair elections through dry run
IV. DESIRED IMPACT AND OUTCOME OF THE PROJECT
 Enhance voters’ awareness about the electoral process, helps voters make
informed choices and lays the foundation for increased citizen participation
in governance over the long-term.
 Contribute to enhanced political transparency, accountability, credibility and
public trust in governance.
 Reduce the scope for unfair or corrupt electoral practices.

 Voter preferences are determined by multiple factors (such as the popularity
of a given political party, money-driven canvassing by candidates,
influential persons /leaders in the family/community, the ethnic identity of
the candidates, etc.) These factors can hinder the impact of issue-based
education and advocacy efforts. Therefore, it can be important to ensure that
such campaigns are well-targeted and sustained over time
