Upgrade to Ultra Lite 3.2.4.812 R3

IMPORTANT: When doing the procedures in this document, you must use safe work
practices and wear the correct Personal Protective Equipment (for example, Safety
Eyewear) according to your Company's Standard Operating Procedures.

Announcement and Instructional

The purpose of this bulletin is to upgrade Ultra Lite 3.2.4.812 R3 and the embedded files on
Vita Flex

1. Verify Ultra Lite Version by accessing Vita CR Settings from the WINDOWS Start
button: Start -> Carestream ->Carestream CR -> UL Settings

NOTE: The left-up corner, must be Vita CR Settings 3.2.4.812 before you continue.

  If you have lower version Ultra Lite, please upgrade to 3.2.4.812 R2 first.
(Ultra Lite 3.2.4.812 R1 is an internal version and never released. The Ultra
Lite version brought by Image Suite V4 MR4 is 3.2.4.812 R2.)

 You can download it from Service Portal:

Service Site > Health-Medical > Digital Capture > Computed
Radiography > VITA > VITA FLEX – Downloads

2. Verify the embedded files version.

 You may see below firmware versions after you choose the about tab, if the
Ultra Lite is 3.2.4.812 R2:

 FPGA: 40.3.1.0.165
 Controller Firmware: 40.2.1.0.126
 Motion/IMCS: 40.8.1.0.18
 Screen transportation unit firmware: 40.4.1.0.119

 If you find the firmware number are higher than above. Please check whether
you have to continue.

 If your Ultra Lite is just upgraded to 3.2.4.812 from former version or the
firmware versions are lower. You can leave them now and upgrade later by
following this instruction.

3. Close the Vita CR settings/UL settings window. Unzip Patch_UL_812R3.zip and

run Patch_UL_812R3.bat. You can download it from Service Portal:

4. Press any key to continue.

5. Click Update. Please wait while updating, this procedure may take up to 3 minutes.

 6. Click Finish when it shows the files are up to date.

7. Confirm the embedded files are successfully updated:

 Access Vita CR Settings from WINDOWS Start button:
Start -> Carestream ->Carestream CR -> UL Settings

Choose About tab to confirm.

Resolved Field Issues

PLI Defect Ticket Description

100025715 ESD - During plate loading and unloading, the plate charged
with static electricity. It causes sensors blinking and error 7900.
100025717 Error 7074 shows when scanning intermittently.
100025223 System freezes after the embedded files upgraded even it was
downgraded to UL 679 first.
