Explain the following questions

1. In the differentiation between the West and the East where can you
find the Philippines in the distinction? Why? (5pts)
Philippines is part of the Eastern part of the world and from the differentiation from
above, I can say that Philippines have similar traits, culture, and traditions from other
neighboring countries. But given that we have been colonized by other western counties
in the past, we also share some traits from the west and we cannot just ignore those.
2. What are the factors that make the Philippines similar or different
from its Asian neighbours? (5pts)

Just like other counties around us, we are surrounded by water. We also give priority
to family and elders more than our own self. One of the difference of the Philippines to
other Asia counties is that 93% of our population is Christian which was influenced by
western colonization in the past.

3. Is there also a difference between regions or ethno-linguistic groups

in the Philippines? Why? (5 pts.)

Different ethnic groups in the Philippines have their own dialect and own way of living.
Not every Filipinos know how they speak, live, behave or feel as they are their own
group. Some cultural patterning may be seen in certain regions of the Philippines due to
the generally homogeneous forms of ecosystems prevalent in some broad areas and
the relatively more increased interaction between ethnic groups that inhabit proximate
areas.
