Natural calamities are a part of life. Natural catastrophes have increased in frequency over time,
resulting in a threefold increase in worldwide economic losses. As a result, risk management has
become increasingly important, especially in areas prone to natural disasters. Recognizing the threat of
a hazard and the potential for harm, and then seeking to mitigate the damage, is the process of risk
management.
