Understanding Typhoon

According to the speaker from the Source, a typhoon is the same as a hurricane or a
cyclone. The sole distinction between a typhoon, a hurricane, and a cyclone is where they occur.
The Philippines is one of the most disaster-prone nations on the planet. Not only is the
Philippines subject to severe weather, but it is also in a high-risk zone for earthquakes and
tsunamis. Typhoon Yolanda was one of the worst typhoons ever to strike the Philippines, killing
an estimated 7,000 people. As typhoons intensify and more super typhoons emerge, they are
becoming a national threat.
