Kentucky.He has a brother, Daniel,

manager, and Debbie.He is of
French, German, Irish, and
Cherokee descent,
John Christopher Depp is an
American actor, film producer, and musician. He has been nominated three
times for an Oscar and received a Golden Globe, a Screen Actors Guild Award
and a César.
He began his career in the 1984 horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street as Glen
Lantz, one of Freddy Krueger's victims. Two years later, in 1986, he had a
supporting role in Platoon directed by Oliver Stone. His role as Tom Hanson in
the television series 21 Jump Street made him a teen idol. While working on it,
Depp starred in the film Edward Scissorhands, which earned him his first
Golden Globe nomination and recognition from the criticism. He subsequently
starred in most of the films in which he worked, including Sleepy Hollow (1999),
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003) and its
respective sequels, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), Sweeney Todd:
The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2008), Alice in Wonderland (2010) and its
sequel Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016), Fantastic Beasts and Where to
Find Them (2016) and its sequel Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes by Grindelwald
(2018). His highest-grossing films have been the Pirates of the Caribbean saga
with more than 3.9 billion dollars, followed by Alice in Wonderland with
worldwide revenues of 1,024 million, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with
474 million and The Tourist with 278 million worldwide
