Fernanda’s experience in Brazil
I am going to tell you about my first experience abroad. Everything

started when I got in the airplane. I was looking out the window amazed
by the sky and clouds but feeling really bad because I was afraid of
traveling by air. Around me, the other passengers were sleeping,
talking and listening to music while I was counting the minutes to arrive
to Brazil, my destination. I don’t know if I was the only person
experiencing those emotions but I’m sure I was the only one showing
them.
However, I was aware that it had to change. I thought I had to able to

overcome my fears if I wanted to travel a lot. So, I decided to think
about positive things and activities to do in Brazil. I couldn’t wait to go
sightseeing, diving and meeting new people. However, being a
foreigner is not easy since you miss homemade food and might have
difficulties with the language. Although Portuguese sounds familiar, it is
very difficult to understand it when people speak too fast.
What I like about me, though, is that I don´t mind facing challenges and
definitely enjoy having new experiences. So, as soon as I landed in
Brazil, I started to change my mind and feel better. Brazil has the most
heartbreaking landscapes and people there are warm. I visited a lot of
places and bought several souvenirs. I thought of everybody: my
family, friends and relatives. In my opinion, everything is more
expensive than in Colombia but going to Brazil is not something that
you can do everyday.
Next year, I am travelling to that great country again, this time, with my
mom. Actually, I already got tickets. I’m sure we’ll have a great time
there. The good point is that I already know the place and have saved
more money. In addition, I am not going to feel bad on the airplane
because I am planning to take some pills to sleep. My mom always
says these pills work really well. She really wants me to feel good. We
hope time passes fast to be there as soon as possible.
