If exposed to these charges, damage may result. Disconnect the battery ground cable. 2, Remove the passenger side air bag module; refer to «Section 501-20B». Note: Prior to starting the vehicle, check for PATS DTCs. Perform the appropriate pinpoint test Note: When the PATS module is replaced, both ignition keys must be relearned and stored in memory. Insert each key in the ignition and turn to RUN for automatic programming, Note: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 18 km (10 mi) ‘or more to relearn the strategy Note: ‘The PATS modute must be reconfigured after replacement. Refer to the PATS Configuration Command Index. For additional reprogramming assistance, refer to the Help Screen on the New Generation STAR (NGS) Tester configuration card, To install, reverse the removal procedure. a Gxs906-A, © 3. Remove the passive anti-theft system (PATS) module and bracket. 1 Remove the bolts. 2 Disconnect the electrical connector. © 4. Release the retainer tabs and remove the PATS module from the bracket.
