UiPath Licensing – What’s New
We’ve seen tremendous growth of UiPath products over the past year. With the rollout of new product
capabilities as part of the April release, we’ve also listened to the feedback and simplified our overall licensing
options. In response to market needs, we’re pleased to announce that UiPath is aligning our licensing strategy to
provide customers a coherent and comprehensive end-to-end Hyperautomation Platform. The new licensing
enables new use cases and user personas to deliver simplification and product synergies to enable our customers
to scale their automation initiatives easier and more quickly:
• Simplify and make it easy to get started with flexible offering of user roles. The user roles provide
a quick way to get started based on evolving capabilities to tailor customers’ personas and remove the
need to procure mix and match products separately. This helps support the market growth, whether
that’s implementation requiring specialists based on the unique needs that may grow over time.
• Scale to enable business use case with multiuser licensing. This new licensing scale to support
scenarios that serves the teams with shift workers, variable or seasonal staff across multiple time zones.
• Increase ROI with Orchestrator for Unattended Robots. Concurrent Unattended Robots provide high
capacity utilization and allows licenses on multiple machines accessible by any number of users.
Orchestrator options are also available for both on-premises and Cloud.

The shift in this direction aligns with UiPath strengths. "UiPath’s RPA platform provides an intuitive user experience
across a range of RPA personas, including business users, citizen developers and seasoned IT developers." – Gartner’s
MQ

Multiuser License
UiPath is transitioning from Concurrent user license to Named User in alignment with the enterprise software
market standard. This alleviates the challenges where only one user per license can be logged in at any time
resulting in license not always available when needed. With Named user, every user has a dedicated license and
always there when needed.
Multiuser license is introduced for cases such as Call Center where there’s shift workers or variable staff across
multiple time zones, part-time staff, or seasonally augmented staff. Multiuser is only available on Orchestrator
Standard. The Admin defines a list of authorized named users which can claim a license. Licenses are allocated on
a first come, first server basis up to the cap of the concurrent licenses purchased. 1 (one) Multiuser license allows
up to 3 (three) authorized users (1 at a time). 100 Multiuser licenses will allow up to 300 authorized users defined.
In addition to the above changes, Node Locked will not be available for Studio and Attended Robot. Node Locked
will transition to Named User or Orchestrated Multiuser to benefit from the full capabilities of the services for
scale. There will be options to upgrade products to the orchestrator and multiuser license will enable support for
multiple users on the same license. This enables the ability to use the same license for the same user on different
machines where the same Windows user can access the product on multiple machines with the same Named User
license.
Unattended Robot Requires Orchestrator
Unattended Robots will be available with Orchestrator. The benefits include high capacity utilization of
Unattended Robots and centralized managed queue for scale. UiPath offers multiple and affordable Orchestrator
options available both on-premises and Cloud hosted for starter implementations. This results in Node Locked
Unattended Robots transitioning to Concurrent Unattended Robots.
UiPath Licensing Overview
Products and Services may connect through shared functionalities or come in similar licensing models, despite
being commercialized individually. For ease of reference and regardless of similarities, descriptions of licensing
schemes are provided per Product and Service. Refer to the UiPath Commercial licensing with guidelines.
Preparation for the Changes
For existing customers, UiPath will honor the licensing of existing purchased Products through March 31st, 2021,
all subject to the licensing available at the time of the purchase. For new customers, quotes aligned to the new
licensing are available on April 1st. Please contact your Sales team for any questions.
