Microsoft PowerPoint

• a powerful presentation software that helps you produce


an effective presentation in this form of on-screen slides

• provides hyperlinks and several animations such styles


such as Entrance, Exit, Emphasis and Motion Paths

Animations and Hyperlinks are great tools in making a


presentation more dynamic
Terms, Views, and Functions

• Slide – a single page of presentation collectively, a group


of slides may be known as a slide deck

The shortcut key to insert a new slide is Crtl+M


Design Templates

The pre-designed graphic styles that you can apply to your


slides.
Slide Show Button

a collection of pages arranged in sequence that contain text


and images for presenting to an audience

You may press F5 to start the presentation from the


beginning or you may click the start slide show button to
display the current slide in the presentation.
Animation

a set of effects which can be applied to text or graphics


within a slide
Transitions
are motion effects that when in slide show view add
movement to the slides as you advanced from one slide
to another
Presentation Views

These are the buttons that are used to change views into
normal, outline, slide sorter, notes page, and reading views
Presentation Views

• Normal View – simplified layout of the page so you can


quickly key, edit, and format the text
Presentation Views

• Notes Page View – displays the slides on the top portion


of the page, with the speaker notes
for each slide in the notes pane from
the bottom of the pane

the design, objects and animations

Tips in Creating an Effective Presentation

• Minimize – Keep slide counts to minimum to maintain


a clear message and to keep the audience attentive
• Simplicity – use bullets or short sentences
• Clarity – use a font style that is easy to read i.e, ARIAL
or CALIBRI. Try to avoid using font sizes smaller than 18
pt, and you may need to go larger for a large room where

the audience is far away


Tips in Creating an Effective Presentation

• Visuals – use graphics to help in your presentation but


not too many to avoid distraction of your audience
• Consistency – make your design uniform
• Contrast – use light font on dark background or vice
versa

Hyperlink in a Presentation
Allows to easily navigate the slides during the presentation. It
allows you to link to another slide in the current presentation,
another slide in a different presentation, another file or webpage
or email address.
Activity: Photo Album

Using the process from the discussion (adding pictures,


videos and hyperlink), create a photo album with a
minimum of ten (10) and maximum of fifteen (15) slides.
You may add captions of your pictures or videos.
