Document Development Exposition: Workplace Correspondence

Explain in detail your document’s development from planning to finish, describing your
challenges, how you overcame them, and what you learned.

Planning
For the planning step of this document, I really had trouble coming up with a topic that would
warrant this communication. I settled on developing signs for the invasive species. I followed the
PowerPoint to develop an outline as a guide for the creation of the email and memo.

First Draft (for peer editing)

The first draft of both the email and memo had all the information that was vital to get across. Both
documents lacked in regard to formatting as well as some key components.

Second Draft (for your packet)

In the second draft of the document, I used the peer review to work on some of the formatting
issues I had. Additionally, I had some changes that needed to be made to the beginning and end of
both documents.

Final Draft (for your portfolio)

For the final draft I implemented the final changes that needed to be made after reviewing the
graded rubric. Once again most of my problem was with the formatting and this is clearly the area I
struggled most. I overlooked the necessity of the recommendations field in the memo and promptly
added that as the main change to the memo.
