a) Regarding item codification :--For an item with different properties like grade ,dimension, shape,

length, heat treatment ,process routes etc ,you may think of defining item key flexfield with more than
one segment if you want to keep a single item code.
b) For mapping your 'To be Process' with the Oracle Applications Release 12,You may use the following
different features of Process manufacturing-Inventory module:
c)In Organization parameters form select Process Manufacturing Enabled check box if it isa Process
Manufacturing organization. This will allow you to use process applications such as Process Execution,
Process Quality and Process Costing.
d) You have option of automatically creating lot level Unit of Measure Conversions for lots created in
Process Manufacturing if you enable the check box 'AutoCreate Lot UOM Conversion' in Organization
parameters window,
e)You can select overpicking for Manufacturing Enabled -to allow operators to over pick components
and ingredients for process batches.
f) You can use The new item status attributes Recipe Enabled---Enables you to create a recipe or formula
for this item in process manufacturing. Process Execution Enabled--Enables you to use the item in a
production batch as an ingredient, product, or by-product,
g) You can create picking rules that enable you to sort picks based on criteria that you
define for process manufacturing batches,.
h) You may use the following Process Manufacturing item attribute:- CAS Number--Chemical Abstracts
Service (CAS) Registry Number, Hazardous Material, Process Costing Enabled , Process Quality Enabled.
Process Execution Enabled, Yield subinventory, Yield Locator, Production Enabled ,Recipe Enabled,
i)You can use the Edit Item Lots window to create new lots, or manage existing lot information. You can
use the Edit Item Lots window to create new lots before you receive the material in the warehouse. You
can search for inventory lots as well as lots created in process execution.
j)View Genealogy,
j) You can also create reservations for different types of supplies such as process manufacturing batches
k) Process batches can be considered as supply in Org level Min-Max planning,
l)Manual move order process allocation honors process manufacturing quality matches .
