ABSTRACT

The popularity of of small businesses have been caused by wide competition in


this field that’s why various marketing strategies are being used to become an
effective tool in profitability. In line with this, the researchers conducted a study
which aim to determine the relationship of marketing strategies to the sales growth or
development of small business in Caloocan City.
In this study, the researchers discussed three major problems such as: a.) the most
effective strategies for starting up a small business in the area of in order to develop it,
b.) the relationship between the marketing strategy and sales growth of small
business, and c.) if selecting a marketing strategy affects the stability of small
businesses. The main purpose of this study is to determine the common effective
marketing strategy that the small business owner uses and how it affects its over-all
performance or sales growth.
The major instrument used in this study was survey quiestionnaire in which the
percentage, weighted mean, and T-test were use to interpret the data. From the data
that was gathered, social media marketing is the most effective strategy for starting up
a small business in the area, in order to develop it and all business owners agreed that
there are changes that will occur to sales upon having an effective marketing strategy.
Hence, there is a significant relationship between the effective marketing strategy to
the sales growth of small business.
