Offering to the Nāgas of Gangtok

རྃ་ཡྃ་ཁྃ། ༀ་ཿྃ།
ram yam kham | om ah hung
raṃ yaṃ khaṃ | oṃ āḥ hūṃ

མད་གཏོར་ི་འབག་བཙོག་ི་མ་ཐམས་ཅད་ལ།
chötor gyi bak tsok drima tamché sel
All impurities in the offering tormas are eliminated,

རང་རང་་མན་ས་ཟད་་ས་པར་ར།
rang rang gi tündzé zé mishepar gyur
And they become an inexhaustible supply of whatever each one desires.

ཻ། ་མཚོ་ན་པོ་གང་ད་ན། །
kyé, gyatso chenpö ting shé na
Kyai. In the depths of the great ocean

ཕོ་ང་གཞལ་ད་ཉམས་དགའ་བར། །
podrang zhalmé nyam gawar
In the immense and delightful palace

་་ལ་པོ་ང་ོང་། །
lu yi gyalpo dungkyong ni
Is Śaṅkhapāla, king of the nāgas,

་མདོག་དཀར་ལ་འོད་ར་འབར། །
kudok kar la özer bar
White in colour and blazing with light rays,

་ོད་་ས་ན་ན་བན། །
kutö lhadzé rinchen gyen
His upper body adorned with divine fabric and jewels,

་ད་ལ་མག་་མཚོར་རོལ། །
kumé drul juk gyatsor rol
His lower body has the tail of a serpent,

ག་གས་ནོར་་འོད་འབར་བམས། ། 1
ག་གས་ནོར་་འོད་འབར་བམས། །
chak nyi norbu öbar nam
And his two hands hold a gleaming jewel.

ལ་མ་གངས་ཀ་བན་ིས་མས། །
drul gö dengka dün gyi dzé
He is adorned by the hoods of seven serpents.

གཡོན་་གག་ན་འོད་འབར་ོ། །
yön du tsuk na öbar ngo
To his left is Crest of Blazing Light, bluish green in colour,

ཆ་གས་ཡབ་འ་གར་མ་བམས། །
chaluk yab dra ter bum nam
With the same dress as her male counterpart and holding a treasure vase.

འར་་་གཉན་ས་བདག་བོར། །
khor du lunyen sadak kor
They are surrounded by a retinue of nāga and nyen earth lords.

འར་གགས་ེན་ལ་བགས་་གསོལ། །
dir shek ten la zhuk su sol
Come now, take your place in this support, we pray.

ེད་ལ་དེས་པ་མད་པ་། །
khyé la gyepé chöpa ni
We present these offerings to delight you:

་ན་་ནོར་ར་གག་དང་། །
lu men lu nor nyerchik dang
Nāga medicine, the twenty-one nāga riches,

ན་གགས་དར་ཆ་་ཚོགས་དང་། །
chenzik korcha natsok dang
Splendid gifts and various forms of donation,

དཀར་མངར་འོ་ཆབ་ར་ོད་སོགས། །
kar ngar o chab nyerchö sok
The whites, the sweets, milk, water and other sensory delights,

དར་ཟབ་ན་ན་ོན་ང་བཟང་། །
darzab rinchen jönshing zang
Fine silk, jewels, excellent trees,

ས་ིང་ེད་ཚལ་ལ་སོགས་པ། ། 2
ས་ིང་ེད་ཚལ་ལ་སོགས་པ། །
trü dzing kyetsal lasokpa
Bathing pools, pleasure gardens and the like—

འདོད་ཡོན་མ་ད་མད་པ་དང་། །
döyön khogü chöpa dang
Offerings of every form of sensory stimulant.

ད་པར་གས་དང་ང་འན་ིས། །
khyepar ngak dang tingdzin gyi
And especially, wish-granting jewels

ལ་པ་ནོར་་བསམ་འལ་སོགས། །
trulpé norbu sampel sok
Created through the power of mantra and meditation.

འདོད་་འང་བ་ེན་་འལ། །
dögu jungwé ten du bul
All this we offer as a support for the arising of all that is desirable.

བདག་ཅག་འར་དང་བཅས་པ་། །
dakchak khor dang chepa yi
We confess whatever we and those around us

་བ་ོད་པ་ས་པ་ལས། །
jawa chöpa nyepa lé
Have done in error and as misdeeds

ཕོག་ག་འམ་འགས་ར་པ་བཤགས། །
pok tuk dram truk gyurpa shak
That might have caused offence or upset.

བ་གགས་་དབང་ལ་པོ་ས། །
deshek luwang gyalpo yi
May the king of mighty, bliss-gone nāgas

ེད་ལ་ག་་ངས་ོབས་མཛོད། །
khyé la taktu sung kyob dzö
Always offer shelter and protection,

ནད་དང་གནོད་པ་་ར་ག །
né dang nöpa zhi gyur chik
Pacify all sickness and causes of harm.

པ་འང་གནས་བཀའ་བན་། ། 3
པ་འང་གནས་བཀའ་བན་། །
pema jungné ka zhindu
In accordance with the words of Padmākara,

ས་གནས་ོད་བད་ངས་ོབས་དང་། །
bé né nöchü sung kyob dang
May you guard the environment and inhabitants of this hidden land,

་དང་བ་ས་བ་གས་ང་། །
zhi dang tashi delek shing
Bring peace, good fortune, happiness and wellbeing

དཔལ་འོར་ལོངས་ོད་ས་པར་མཛོད། །
paljor longchö gyepar dzö
And cause wealth and resources to increase.

བན་དང་བན་འན་ིན་བདག་བཅས། །
ten dang tendzin jindak ché
May the teachings flourish and holders and patrons of the teachings

ད་གས་དཔལ་ཡོན་འལ་བར་ཤོག །
gelek palyön pelwar shok
Enjoy ever greater virtue, excellence and glory.

ས་པའང་་༢ས་༢༢་སངས་ནམ་་འབ་ོར་ལ་ས་ི་ོ་ོས་པས་ིས་པའོ།། །།
