Sub: Requirement of samples for KVIC sanctioned project on “review and revise of Quality
Assurance Norms for Khadi”-reg.
Sir,
It is to submit that a project on “Review and revision the Quality Assurance Norms related
to pre-spinning and spinning area of cotton Khadi and Polyvashtra” of MGIRI has been sanctioned
by S&T(KVIC),Mumbai vide letter No. S&T/R&D/MGIRI/112/2016-17/312 dated 24.10.2016. Under
this project, a committee was formed by KVIC and accordingly first meeting of committee was held
at MGIRI, Wardha on 01.02.2017 under the chairmanship of Sh. S.K. Sinha, Retd.
Dy.CEO(Khadi/EcR),KVIC, Mumbai.

As per the decision of the committee,MGIRI will collect and test samples of cotton Khadi
yarn and Polyvashtra yarn from various Khadi institutions under this project. Hence it is requested
to send minimum 10 hanks (gundi) of a count for each sample to MGIRI,Wardha (Maharshtra) by
the end of May ,2017.Yarn samples of more than one count and test reports of last one year, if
available,along with the yarn samples may be also sent. Yarn hanks (gundi) of each count should be
attached with tag mentioning count and material in proper ways.The yarn samples should be only
in the category of cotton or Polyvashtra produce by New Model Charkha (Ambar Charkha) and yarn
count in the group range of 10-16, 16-24, 24-36, 36-50, 50-70, 70-85, 85-100, 100-140 and above
140 Nm. Also there is a provision for payment of sample charge to the Khadi Institutions against
submission of bills to the MGIRI,Wardha under this project. You may contact to Sh.Mahesh Kumar
