1. Grain Size Analysis – determines the particle size and grain size distribution of the soil.

2. Atterberg’s limits – determines the moisture content at which the soil reaches its liquid, plastic
and shrinkage limit
3. Soil Composition and Classification– Obtained from the grain size analysis, and Atterberg’s limit
test result, the soil will be analyzed according to its composition and classification.
4. Compaction- determines the Optimum moisture content at which the soil attains its maximum
dry density
5. Settlement – determines if the soil does not exceed the maximum settlement required by the
standard
6. Bearing Capacity – determines if the soil can withstand the planned applied pressure for the
structure.
