Introduction

Eco-friendly packaging in the industry of Micro, Small, and Medium enterprises is vital.
Especially in these fast-paced innovations, many people are not concerned about using too much
plastic which causes pollution. The Philippines is one of many countries coming up with the fact
that there are mountains of wasted plastic packaging. Some of them have already disturbed our
delicate environment by washing up on beaches, rivers, and the seas; some have even made
landfall in the street. A worldwide study tracked that approximately 1.6 million tons per day of
plastic garbage have been produced since the pandemic's beginning, and COVID-19 may reverse
the momentum of a long global struggle to minimize plastic waste pollution.

Packaging is a crucial component of a long-term incremental development process that

will need to use a variety of technologies and methods to minimize losses The worldwide food
packaging business can make significant contributions to reducing food losses, assuring food
safety, and promoting global food commerce, which is essential for the economic growth of
many nations such as Philippines (Olsmats and Wallteg, 2009).

Increasing the productivity of MSMEs would have a broad influence on improving

people's welfare because MSMEs are locations where many people depend for their livelihoods.
Modernizing the business system and its systemic policy instruments is one way to boost the
productivity of MSMEs. greater effect on boosting regional competitiveness. The primary item
that all stakeholders in the Philippines must pay attention to, especially MSME businesses, is the
importance of shifting viewpoints in reacting to rising competition. Since competition is the key
to success in a free market, the competition from outside is no longer seen as a danger but rather
as a chance to become better. MSMEs must be given the tools they need to use management
product development, contemporary economic concepts, and principles.

The expansion of MSMEs in the service industry in Cubao, Quezon City like a local

are not aware of how crucial product quality and presentation are to outperform competitors in
the market, thus the items they market are typically quite conventional and ordinary, especially
in terms of packaging. For MSMEs, particularly those involved in the manufacturing of food and
beverages, the issue of packaging remains a weakness. Lack of understanding among MSME
entrepreneurs of the significance of packaging's quality and appearance as well as the scarcity of
packaging service facilities that might boost competitiveness are the main causes of the issue of
poor packaging importance awareness.
