I. Course Overview:
Any business student with good legal knowledge will always be more valued by
employers. Businesses are closely linked with the Legal Industry. Any student of the
management course will learn fast that law is a fundamental part of any company. Hence,
it is essential for business students to know what role does law play in business before
they take up any job. Over the years, business law and legal regulations have become
more complicated. Also, businesses of today require the managers to have more
knowledge of the law and skills to build strong collaborations with lawyers. Trademarks,
Copyrights and Patents are integral to a business. Different regulations and laws affect
businesses, both positively and negatively. Business students must necessarily
understand how the regulations and legal provisions affects a business.
The course includes working knowledge of Companies Act, Foreign Exchange
Management Act, Information Technology Act and laws relating to Intellectual Properties.
The course analyses the use of various negotiable instruments and its working and under
the theme of consumerism, the aspect of Arbitration Act and Prevention of Money
Laundering Act.

At the end of the course, the student shall be able to:
1. Relate the implication of laws of business.
2. Apply the relevant provisions of law to business.
3. Discuss the laws and entities in Indian business environment
