RE: RUNYAKITARA DA-AWA AGENCY (RDA) PROGRAMS SUPPORT REQUEST

Islam was spread in Uganda in 1844. Unfortunately, the rate at which Islam is spread in the Western
region is by far less than in other regions in Uganda. One of the common reasons for this is language
barrier since people understand better when ideas are clearly introduced in their mother tongues. Most
Banyakitara (Banyankole, Bakiga, Bahima, Banyoro, Batooro, Bakonjo etc) consider Islam as a cultural
product of Baganda. This confusion has persisted to date due to failed adaptation of Muslim preachers
to Runyakitara languages.

According to the Qur’an, Allah says; “And O dear Prophet, We have not sent you except with a
Prophethood that covers the entire mankind, heralding glad tidings and warnings, but most people do
not know (34:28). (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him – is the Prophet towards all
mankind”. “And we did not send any messenger except in the language of his people to state clearly for
them… (14:4)”.

Therefore the Agency came up to propagate Islam using the regional Runyakitara languages and has
made many achievements among which include; weekly online presentations fora, media (Peak FM, Hill
FM, Kigezi FM, K Town FM, Endigito FM, TV West Ramadhan special, Radio West daaku special, Crooze
FM), studio for online da-awa (online TV, podcast, YouTube, Facebook, What Sapp, and Telegram)

The Agency employs modern systems of da-awa focusing on the following major goals; da-awa,
education, health, economic empowerment, and research. It is willing to partner with its stakeholders
and supporters through business advertisements and other social, economic, educational, health and
research outreach programs.

The purpose for writing this letter is hereby to request for your support towards RDA programs as per
the attached work plan and budget.
