SCRIPT FOR WELCOMING AND GREETING GUEST

PERFORMANCE TASK IN TLE (FOOD AND BEVERAGES)

SITUATION 1:
Mr. and Mrs. Sante will celebrate their wedding anniversary. They decided to have a
simple party with their family and close friends at Angel’s Restaurant. They made
reservations via telephone two days before the party.

Receptionist: Good evening, Sir, Maam. Welcome to Angel’s Restaurant. How many
people will be dining today?
Guest: Today is our wedding anniversary. We are celebrating it together with our family
and friends.
Receptionist: May I have the name on the reservation?
Guest: Yes, it is SANTE
Receptionist: We have prepared a nice table for your party Mr. and Mrs. Sante. This
way please.
(Converse with guests)
Receptionist: Is this table just fine?
Guest: Yes, it is.
Receptionist: Thank you sir. Here is the wine list and menu. The waiter will be with you
in a short while.
Receptionist: Good evening again everyone. Please enjoy your stay.
SITUATION 2:
A group of young professionals decided to dine at JMF Restaurant. They made no
reservations. Unfortunately, there was no available table when they arrive at the
restaurant.

Receptionist: Good evening Sir. Welcome to JMF Restaurant. A table for how many?
Guest: Five
Receptionist: Do you have a table reservation sir?
Guest: Unfortunately, no.
Receptionist: That’s alright. May I have your name please?
Guest: It is DAVID
Receptionist: I am sorry Sir David but all the tables are occupied at the moment. Do you
mind waiting at the lounge for a few moments?
Guest: Yes, of course.
Receptionist: Thank You Sir. I will call you the moment we have a table available for
you. May I host you a drink while you wait?
Receptionist: I hope you will enjoy your drink. I will return when your table is ready.
A few moments later
Receptionist: I apologize for keeping you waiting, I have arranged a table for you. I think
you will like it. Kindly come with me, and I’ll show you to your table.
Receptionist: Is this table just fine with you Sir?
Guest: Yes, it is.
Receptionist: Thank you sir. Here is the wine list and menu. The waiter will be with you
in a short while.
Receptionist: Good evening again everyone. Please enjoy your stay.
