·      Share of different segment in the overall industry size
·      Imports and Exports
·      Past growth rates of the industry.  This also should be broken into
growth of different segments.
·      Basic dynamics of the industry (Value Chain analysis, key processes,
Critical Success Factors, Consumer Behavior, product life cycles, etc)
·      International overview (at least 3 countries)
·      Basis of competition.  How the companies have been competing 
(price, New products, distribution, brand etc)
·      Any new entrants in the recent past.
·      Key events in the industry– M & As, Bankruptcies
·      Major policy changes that has affected the  industry (both positively
and negatively)  in the recent  past.
·      Typical organization structure in these industries
·      Top 5 players in the industry
o      Size
o      Market share of each segment (trend over the last 5 years)
o      Capacities of different players
o      Products in each market segment
o      Financials – Revenue, Profit, Market capitalization,  P/E
ratios.
o      Strategic decision taken in the past and their results (New
products, New markets, M&As)
·      Competitive Analysis – Segmentwiseb
o      Ratio Analysis (both operational and financial ratios)
o      Segment wise SWOT
o      Product comparison of each players in different segments
o      Segment-wise positioning
·      Projected future trends in the industry
