Of Operation
Rev – Preliminary
Autonomous Start / Stop / Standby Stage
The unit shall be capable of starting and stopping based on pre‐determined conditions based on the
atmospheric conditions being favorable for water extraction/generation.
airflow setpoint =
Fan Start Mode 22,300cfm
The main fans shall start and modulate to maintain a desired airflow. This airflow shall be measured
using a piezo ring based differential pressure sensor.
The fans shall modulate to compensate for filter loading, as well as the possibility for power and load
reduction (future sequences to be developed).
All fans shall be monitored with individual current based switches (CT’s) to prove fan operation.
upstream coil :61.2F
Refrigeration Staging downstream coil :53.2F
Two setpoints shall be employed.
o The primary setpoint shall be the Dx coil leaving air temperature. This setpoint shall be
set for a minimum value (e.g. 55F, adjustable), but shall also be reset based on
atmospheric conditions (future sequence to be developed). keep this sentence
o The secondary setpoint shall be based on the refrigeration circuits saturated suction
pressure. Should the compressor pull the suction down to the minimum suction
TBD by customer pressure setpoint (adjustable), the compressors capacity for that circuit shall be
temporarily limited, to prevent moisture from freezing on the Dx coil.
Staging
o Upon satisfaction that the main fans are operating the first compressor to start shall be
remove lead lag, a variable speed compressor. Since each circuit has one variable speed compressor, the
does not apply circuits shall be lead‐lagged based on runtime hours; the circuit with the least time shall
be started first. If in continuous operation, every 100 hours, the start sequence shall be
remove, does not re‐evaluated.
apply, each stage o When the lead variable speed compressor reaches 80%, the lag variable speed
is 1 circuit only compressor shall be started.
o When the lag variable speed compressor reached 80%, the On‐Off compressor on the
lead circuit shall be started.
o When the lag variable speed compressor reaches 80% with the lead circuit On‐Off
compressor, then the lag circuit On‐Off Compressor shall be started.
o When additional capacity is needed, the lead variable speed compressor shall be
released for 100% capacity.
o If additional capacity is needed the lag variable speed compressor shall be released for
100% capacity.

Sequence Of Operation
The condenser fans shall be modulated to maintain a liquid pressure setpoint.
The LLP setpoint will consist of three values
Startup pressure, Normal (Static) Pressure Setpoint, Dynamic Pressure Setpoint (based on the EXV
operation).
Electronic Expansion Valve Control
The electronic expansion valves shall be modulated to maintain a desired suction superheat.
The EXV will also employ a Maximum Operating Pressure mode to prevent compressor overload on high
load startup.
