INTERESTING PLACES IN TERNATE

Talking about Ternate Island is very interesting since colonialism came to looking for spices in Indonesia, but after independent of Indonesia, many tourist visited Ternate. Beginning from Legu Gam, it is a birthday of sultan of Ternate. This event celebrates in April to Mei. Many performance can visitor saw in this event, such as soya-soya dances, it is a traditional dances which showed the heroic of ternate people to attack the colonialism, and also Lenso dance, it is welcome dance. Next event is Fisherman Festival. It is in August when the weather is good and no wave in the sea. It is the best timing to catch the fish for fisherman and sail around the islands. The last event is Jailolo Bay Festival. Start from September to October. It is show many traditional foods, traditional dances and many attractions, for example is weeding ceremony of sultan family. Travelling to Ternate is very easy. The visitors can contact the tour and travel agency in Indonesia or in Ternate. They can use airplane or Pelni Ships. Flight to Ternate is every day with Garuda Airlines, Sriwijaya Airlines and Batavia Airlines. It is direct from Jakarta to Ternate or via Makassar and Manado. By ships, it is three times a week.
