The two types of fish have a number of similarities and differences.

In relation to similarities,
they share common features with respect to their class, habitat, and color. Both species belong
to Chondrichthyes class, live in ocean, and have white stomach. Despite having white stomach,
the colour of their back is different. The whale shark has grey-blue back and sides with light
spots, while the Tiger shark has grey-brown back and sides. There are differences in their
weight and diet. Whale shark is a lot heavier than the Tiger shark because the former is 18 tons,
whereas the latter is less than 1 ton. The diet of whale shark consists of planktons, krill, and
small animals, but the tiger shark feeds on tuna, turtles, and dophins. Also, one can find
dissimilarities in their size, behavior and conservation status. The Whale shark is much bigger
than the Tiger shark and it is nearly double in size. The fins and tail of the whale shark are larger
and bigger than that of the tiger shark. The Tiger shark is dangerous and attacks on humans, but
there are no reports of attacks of the Whale shark on humans. The tiger shark has sharp teeth
and powerful bite, but the Whale shark does not have sharp teeth or a powerful bite. Finally,
the two species have a very distinct conservation status. The Whale shark is an endangered
species and will soon become extinct. On the other hand, the tiger shark is a protected species
and is not in the risk of extinction.
