In support to the implementation of the Universal Health Care, we recommend
mobilizing the Barangay Health Workers as additional workforce in the community in
navigating identified household members needing primary health care services, referral
to health care providers and accredited health care institutions.
In addition, Republic Act 7883 of Rule II Section 1, pertaining to the roles and
responsibilities of Barangay Health Workers as Health Care Service Providers states
that “the Barangay Health Workers shall render primary health care services to the
members of the community by monitoring the health status of the household members
under his/her area of coverage”.
In this light, this Office would like to recommend the attached activities using the
profile form as guidance in the conduct of household monitoring visits to be reported
to their immediate supervisors in the local government units for their appropriate action
Thank you.
