Peter became a firebrand promoter of Christ - the Rock.

It was those years when slavery was practiced in USA. A slave


bidding was going on. Slaves were brought in for display,
entangled with ropes – bound. A young frightened girl’s chance
came to be auctioned. As the auctioneer opened the bidding
with a price, a person offered a huge price for her. She was sold.
The man came to take her. She looked at him disgustingly and
spat on his face. The man wiped his face and said to her follow
me. The man goes ahead, gets the purchase documents. He also
asks for “manumission papers”. He fills that up and hands over
the girl this manumission paper – i.e. papers declaring her free.
He continued – as long as you carry this paper – no one can
make you a slave ever. She was shocked and as she began to
grasp the significance of the documents, she fell to her feet and
wept at the gentleman’s feet. Through her tears of joy and
gratitude, she said = “You paid a price for me to set me free. I’ll
serve you forever.”
Dear children – You and I were once bound in slavery to sin. But
our good Lord Jesus, shed His blood at Calvary to set us free. Do
we want to lose the manumission / redemption papers and be
slaves again or do we keep the papers and never be a slave and
of course willingly and wholeheartedly serve Him.
He has given us a free will – so we need to choose.

Logos is used to refer to the constant, written word of God,
which we have recorded in the Bible.
Rhema refers to the instant, relational personal, speaking of
God to us.

As an example, let’s say you’re at school and you’re angry about


something. The more you think about it, the more turmoil you
experience, and the more dead you begin to feel.
All of a sudden, Romans 8:6 pops into your head: “The mind set
on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the spirit is life and
peace.”
Immediately you realize, “No wonder I’m so dead! I’ve been
setting my mind on my flesh. I need to turn back to the Lord to
set my mind on Him.” So you begin to pray, “Lord, I turn back to
You. I set my mind on You in my spirit now.
Suddenly you’re saved from the negative things you were
experiencing and are ushered into enjoying life and peace from
God. How did all this happen? The Lord used the constant,
written word (logos) you’d previously read to speak an instant
and personal word to you (rhema) in your particular situation.
The Lord’s instant speaking strengthened you to turn back to
Him. This came to you in the midst of your circumstance.

Phil 4: 8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever


is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely,
whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy
—think about such things.

body – soul - spirit


grace - tilt towards God’s spirit
disgrace - tilt towards flesh
Rom 6:1-2 Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?
By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we
live in it any longer?

So in conclusion, we all can experience grace of GOD. At the


cross Jesus said – it is finished (from His side). We need to make
a choice and maintain it. I urge you to choose grace and avoid
disgrace
