My chosen behavior is Courage. Courage is not the absence of fear, but the
ability to manage despite having fear. It is being brave and confident enough to do
what you believe is right. In short, courage is the ability to overcome a situation
that frightens us. Having courage traits or being a courageous person will allow
you to try something, particularly when you have not done it before, courage is to
trust your colleagues or co-workers, and also if you are a courageous person you
will tell the truth no matter how hard it was maybe for others to hear. That is why
courage is very important to a workplace.
There are top five professions and institutions that need huge courage to take
with. For Professions: First, firefighters, it takes courage to take on a profession
that includes walking into flaming building and search for survivors. Second, test
Pilot, test pilots need to sit into a fighter jet or a commercial airplane and fly it for
the first time to detect any production or design faults. Third, Volcanologist, it
need a big courage to study volcanoes and predict eruptions. Fourth, Surgeon, in
the field of medicine, we would see that being a surgeon is a job that takes
enormous courage. Fifth, bomb disposal technician. For institutions: First, the
Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP). Second, Philippine State College of Aeronautics:
PhilSCA Flying School. Third, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and
Seismology (PHIVOLCS). Fourth, the Philippine Academy of Aesthetic Surgery.
And fifth the last one is the Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit. These professions
and institutions that have been mentioned face all sorts of dangers and challenges.
Their risk carries a prize that goes beyond the usual tap on the back and a fat
paycheck because their work makes a difference in all of our lives. And that’s
where the greatest courage lies, to do something while the eyes of the world are all
over you.
