“LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL”

My favorite part of the movie is when Dora fell in love with Guido. There is
that particular scene wherein the two of them conspire to rendezvous on the
floor under a banquet table. In there, they kiss, and Dora suddenly whispers,
"Take me away!" to Guido. That part is so lighthearted, but at the same time, I
was getting a premonition that it was the calm before the storm because of the
movie’s theme. Still, I liked it because it is the highlight of their love life and
it built up the hype and anticipation of what’s to come for the next chapter of
their lives.

In terms of acting, the actors were appropriately cast and they portrayed the
characters in a realistic manner. Roberto Benigni, who starred as Guido, did a
splendid job in portraying a “clown” and protective father. Even though in real
death camps there would be no role for Guido to take, his acting made it seem
like it is possible. All in all, their acting made humor possible even in a tragic
event such as Holocaust and you can feel the human spirit finding hope in a
miserable situation, which I think is what made the movie beautiful.
