WELCOME JOYCE MILLS, CISR, CPIW

Joyce comes to us from the Pitt County Association of Insurance Professionals that turned in their charter earlier this year. We asked Joyce to write a little something so that we could spotlight her as a new transferred member so we could get to know her.
Joyce joined NCAIW in 1973 as a charter member of the Pitt County Association of Insurance Women this was changed to Professionals several years later. She served PCAIP as president 12 times. PCAIP disbanded in 2010 and she joined the Raleigh Association. Joyce considers many of the members of RAIP as friends and mentors. She has not been able to attend any meetings yet, as seems there is always conflict. It takes almost 2 hours to get to Cary, so cant just go to meeting and pop somewhere else but is planning to try to attend the December meeting. Joyce really enjoys getting the Pinecone. Joyce has served NCAIW as Secretary and Treasurer. She has been chairman of the NCAIW Nominating Committee, served as NCAIW delegate to Region II on several occasions and has served as the NAIW Region II Nominating Committee Chairman. Joyce was awarded the NCAIW Insurance Professional of the Year in 1993. She has attended every NCAIW Convention since 1974. Joyce is currently employed by Hooker and Buchanan, Inc. in Greenville, NC as a Commercial Lines CSR for the last 13 years. Prior to that she worked for Don McGlohon & Associates for 25 years. Joyce is married to her childhood sweetheart (45 years) and has one son, Gray and one granddaughter, Gracie (who will be 7 on 11-13).

Please help extend a warm welcome to Joyce! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
