ABSTRACT

In this study, the ULMWP organization fights for their organization to become members of
the South Pacific regional organization or the so-called Melanesian Spearhead Group. The
ULMWP was formed at a meeting of West Papuan leaders in Vanuatu on December 7th,
2014, various factions of the independence movement united to form a new body called the
United Liberation Movement for West Papua. This new organization brought together 3 main
organizations that had been fighting for independence for a long time with their own
methods, they were the Federal State of the Republic of West Papua, The West Papua
National Coalition for Liberation, and The Parliament National West Papua.
