Materials Options menu > Materials The ROHR? material database MATDAT includes for an example pipe, fiting and screw materials, that are usually used in pipeline construction. The definition ofthis materials takes into consideration approved national and international standards Only if required we use in addition manufacturer data, Its possibie to take into consideration material properties from different sources. The material properties defined in the material database only serve as a sample and make no claim to be complete. If required this material properties can be completed e. 9. by properties from differing sources. ‘The qualification and acceptance of a selected material forthe intended operating conditions has to be checked by the user in any case. General information In ROHR2 31.1 and higher all material definitions, used in the piping system are stored locally in the project directory and additonially in the ROHR2win fle (*.2w ). This ensures that the calculations are always carried out under identical material predefinitions. For this purpose at frst the materials must be selected from the global material database. ‘The characteristic values are managed for each material by specifications and revisions. That means that a characteristic value , e.g. Rp0.2) can be defined for the material in different specifications or revisions. ‘This can be used to manage and control characteristic values of different revisions of one specification. Editing the material file by text editor is no longer possible! For downwards compatibility the former material file (MATDAT, up to release 31.0) is part of the delivery, but the fle will not be revised anymore. The administration of materials outside the graphical user interface can be made by the external program r2matmng.exe. Carry out this program in the project directory to create and modify material definitions. Selection of materials Materials available in the global material database are listed in Available materials. Materials , selected for the caloulation system aro listad in the table Seloctad materials (sae dialog window Material, 4.9.4.2.) Materials, already in use in the current project, are marked by a red symbol in the list Selected materials. Materials not in use up to now are marked by a blue symbol. At least one material is required in the calculation system. User defined materials and local material definitions can be modified For each material (ight lst) and each characteristic value a norm specification as well as a revision is required, This is used ©.g,, to compare to data of a former revision. Materials can be selected several times from the global material database if used with characteristic values from different revisions, Material assignment — R21D In ROHR2 31.0 and lower the assignment of materials in the caloulation system was made by material names. ROHR2 31.1 and higher now uses a special ID: .R2-ID*. This ID generally can be defined freely, but is limited to 12 characters and must be unique inside the local material data . The pre- defined R2-ID normally consists the material name, in case of longer names the term ends after 12 characters. If required the name includes an altached continued index. In calculation projects made by ROHR2 31.0 or lower the material definition s automatically are converted and assigned on the basis of existing material definitions. Material import For the import of material definitions an import function is available. Data in old MATDAT format or in the current file format can be imported into ROHR2. Tho import can be made for the local matoral file and the Current project as well as for the global material database as user defined material Material comparison ‘Accompare feature allows the identification and documentation of differences between the local material file and the materia of the same name in the global material file as well as between an imported file and existing list Material check ‘The local material data is checked when the calculation project is loaded system IF local materials have been modified afterwards in the global material database a waming occurs at the start of the project and the differences are shown. Modified global material definitions can be taken over into the local material file in this case. If the transfer is declined, the former material properties will be used inthe project. woow.rohr2.com SIGMA Ingenieurgeselischaft mbH Material - dialog window Options menu > Database files > Materials Lams. m2 Hse EPese ss Lams...
