It has been some heated arguments around whether Facebook has taken over too much free

time of many people and so have many students. It raises parents’ worry because Facebook
may lead to some negative consequences for their studies and physical health. For my money, I
totally agree with this point. In the second-coming paragraph, some stand-out downsides of
using Facebook will be listed.
First and foremost, as spending too much time surfing the internet, students may have no time
to practice or to do exercises to improve their bodily. This takes part in slowing down the
development process of the body and reducing students’ abilities. As a result, many students
now have to deal with physical problems like being short, weak, thin, or even having diabetes at
the ages of sixteen to seventeen. Another corollary is that Facebook and online shows are
distracting students from their studies. This may lead students to some addiction and be
negligent at school. Last but not least, students who are wasting all their time chit-chatting have
no time for their studies which usually results in having a bad performance at school. This
directly affects what their future hold and as they keep doing it, they are putting their life at
risk. Take the national high school exam as an example. Many students failed it and can’t get
into any university because they spent too much time surfing the internet instead of studying
and revising for the important test.
All in all, spending too much time on Facebook or on the internet has terrible effects on
students, especially on their studies and their physical development. The time spent on the
internet the students should be limited by their parents and themselves as well to minimize the
risk it takes on them.
