INITIATING SYSTEM
NON-ELECTRIC INITIATING SYSTEM
Application:
The non-electric priming system is designed to initiate explosive material, including explosive loaded to the blast hole,
in open cast mining and non-coal mines.
The system offers a possibility to build a blasting network of practically any number of blast holes, which greatly improves
the blasting economy. It is a very flexible solution that can be adapted to individual needs of each mine and the properties
of the rock.
The system includes:
• Nitronel brand non-electric in-hole and surface detonators,
• Ergonel brand non-electric, in-hole, reinforced detonator,
• system ancillary components (Nitrobunch fuse kit, a shock tube connector and a T-connector),
• Nitrotube shock tube.

NITRONEL Q SYSTEM
Application:
Nitronel Q is a millisecond delay system designed for use in quarries and open-cast mining. The Nitronel Q system
is composed of Nitronel QH hole detonators and Nitronel QS surface detonators.
Nitronel QS detonators are used to achieve a blast delay between the priming of Nitronel QH or MS in-hole detonators
and for extension and branching of the blast line by combining with other Nitronel QS surface detonators. Nitronel QS
detonators are put in plastic connectors that allow combining detonators with up to 8 shock tubes to prime detonators.
Connector colours depend on the detonator type.
Nitronel QH detonators are designed to initiate an explosive inside a hole. Nitronel QH detonators placed in holes have
long delay times so that the Nitronel QS blast network is not damaged during the detonation in-hole detectors.

Application:
The shock tube connector is a specially prepared 4-centimeter section of plastic hose with a suitably selected inner and
outer diameter which guarantees the transfer of detonation between connected shock tubes even when their ends
do not touch each other.
Packaging:
The shock tube connectors are packaged in a plastic bag, 1000 pieces in each bag. Bags with connectors are
packaged in a cardboard box, 7 pcs. in each box. Another packaging methods is allowed if requested by the customer.
T-type CONNECTOR
Application:
The T-connector provides a durable and secure attachment of the shock tube to the detonating blast circuit and enables
its smooth tensioning. The connector can be applied onto a shock tube of any detonator type and then snapped onto
the detonator of the blast circuit.
Packaging:
The T-connectors are packaged in a plastic bag, 400 pieces in each bag. Bags with connectors are packaged in a cardboard
box, 7 pcs. in each box. Another packaging methods is allowed if requested by the customer.
NITROTUBE SHOCK TUBE
Application:
The Nitrotube shock tube is designed for the production of non-electric igniters and for use in underground and open-cast
mines to extend the blast line using non-electric detonators. The shock tube cannot be used in potentially explosive
atmospheres of coal dust and/or methane. The triple-layered tube structure allows for sustaining the detonation inside
the tube, without interfering with it or priming nearby explosives or other shock tubes. It also provides excellent strength
parameters.
Properties:

Outside tube diameter [mm] 3 ± 0,15
Internal hole diameter [mm] 1,2 ± 0,15

Packaging:
Nitrotube shock tube is wound on spools, packaged in boxes, placed on pallets and stretch wrapped. On request, tube spools
for the manufacture of detonators can be placed directly on pallets and stretch wrapped.
