a) 

  Listening skill:

·  Students will have the ability to hear and recognize the word stress by improving listening skills.
In each unit, for example in unit 1: Where is your address, the teacher will provide students with a
vocabulary list (address, village, tower), read the dialogue, and practice. The teacher would do the same
task in every unit for the whole semester.

·  Students will have the ability to listen and follow simple directions whenever they meet
exercises such as multiple choice in unit 1 or gap-filling in unit 2.

·  Students will have the ability to identify the main ideas of very simple short stories on familiar
topics in the curriculum (with teachers’ help).

·  Students will have the ability to distinguish more important ideas from less important ones.

·  Students will have the ability to listen and respond to simple questions about topics.

·  Students will have the ability to listen and understand short dialogues, monologues, simple
structure, and 45 - 60 words related to the topics.

b)    Speaking skills:

·  Students will have the ability to give directions and make suggestions by learning the given
structure; make requests and respond to them both inside and outside the classroom.

·  Students will have the ability to ask and respond to simple questions about familiar topics such
as self, family, school, etc., or related to daily communication.

·  Students will have the ability to participate in the discussion about some topics in the curriculum
(with teachers’ help).

·  Students will have the ability to answer direct questions about familiar topics in basic interviews
at a slow and clear pace.
