I wanted to develop a hybrid set of business
acumen and technical skills, and the course
content was exactly what I was looking
for. It focuses on the cross-section of
technology and business, which is in high
demand these days.
My course has a relatively small cohort,
which means that we have close
relationships with each other. We also
share very similar passions and interests
as the course is shaped for students who are
passionate about technology. Having the
opportunity to learn, engage, and discuss
with people who share the same passion

this course.

The skills I have developed have been
crafted to help me once I enter the
corporate world following my degree.
WBS does an exemplary job in
ensuring its students are equipped
to excel at the start of their careers,
often using case study materials to
help us get an idea of what to expect
and achieve in the workplace.
My two main pieces of advice would
be to be confident and to make the
most of your experience. This course
goes by extremely quickly which is
even more reason to be confident in
tackling the challenges it presents
but also in making the most of your
experience by reaching out to your

Two things set WBS apart: the people and its
environment. Firstly, the lecturers, the academic
support staff, the careers team, and the wellbeing
team are awesome. Never in my life have I
encountered people who want the best for you
to succeed. Everyone across the board wants you
to succeed academically and personally. I have
also found my lecturers to be very responsive
which has been really reassuring whilst
completing my studies at WBS.
In addition to this, the location of the
University of Warwick campus is excellent. It is
serene and very conducive for learning. I also feel
very safe as there is 24-hour campus security so I
can leave the library at midnight and walk back to
my accommodation without any concerns.

After completing my undergraduate studies
in mathematics I wanted to deepen
my understanding of mathematics,
specifically in a high-level financial context,
in order to pursue a career within the
investment sector.
For me, the best thing about the course
was the depth of understanding that
is expected from all students. From day
one, the academics set their expectations
high for the cohort, and I found this highly
motivating. The course modules interweave
and overlap with relevant concepts and
ideas, emphasising the fundamental
underpinning of quantitative finance
and giving real-world applications for
theoretical content. The lecturers are all in
the top of their field, showcasing the three
departments’ commitment to delivering
the highest quality teaching.

Not only did this solidify my learning and shape

to regularly interact with my course mates, I have

from five different countries - Malaysia, Nigeria, China,
Greece, and India. Collaborating with my course

of life and increased my network of friends. Besides
discussing our studies, we sometimes talk about our
aspirations and views on topics in the international
world of business such as politics, sports, and
technology which enables us to learn new knowledge

Before coming to WBS, I was worried about being able

The main reason I wanted to pursue an MSc was to learn more about
finance, as I wanted to enter the industry but I had no prior experience
in the area.
The scholarship I received allowed me to focus on my studies without having
to work part-time, which I did during my Undergraduate years. This enabled
me to fully commit to fulfilling both my academic and non-academic
responsibilities and helped me develop excellent time management skills
and a very strong work ethic. I used my scholarship to pay off a large part
of my rent at the student accommodation in Coventry which felt amazing.
