VACCINE

Vaccination can be considered one of the most important and successful medical advances of modern
civilization. However, an epidemic recently emerged in USA made up of parents who are opposed to
vaccinating their children. These parents often question the level of safety and efficacy of vaccines
and the scope of their research. The epidemic affected vaccination rates, weakening the country’s
herd immunity. Parents want to protect their children from harm, but they can unknowingly do more
harm if they choose not to vaccinate. Despite the concerns of many parents, the benefits of the
vaccine clearly outweigh the risks. Vaccines are a medical procedure that is said to have a positive
effect on the body’s own immune system. It is known as preventive medicine because vaccination is
defined as the process of making people immune or resistant to an infectious disease. In particular,
they work through the process of safely exposing people to a germ, such as a particular virus, so that
their immune system can produce antibodies to fight a particular virus. Essentially, our bodies safely
get into a small number of germs from a particular disease that our immune systems can fight.
Therefore, our body will become resistant to disease in the future if it is supplied naturally to our
body. Vaccines allow our body to react quickly to pathogens because it has learned to fight them
properly. This prevents disease from gradually conquering our body in case we ever get into it
naturally. However, there are still many criticisms about the effectiveness of vaccination.
