From what have been taught in class and from what our everyday homework have included, it

could be said that the ENL 231 is a fruitful course including all the essential content that allow us to get
ready for work.

Personally, it has been very useful and interesting, where it provided me with all the sufficient
requirements that allow me to get ready for work as an engineer. This course has taught me the
importance of both listening and speaking behaviors, while emphasizing the importance of both. That
was done by teaching me how to use appropriate body language (eye contact and posture), and how to
focus on the idea, and not being distracted by mannerism (cloths, speak, looks) or by noise, phone, or
other people, and it also taught how to be brief, concise, clear, and straight to the point while speaking
to others with the concern of being polite and respectful.

In addition, this course stressed on the importance of communication skills in order to have the
knowledge to solve problems within our jobs effectively in order to increase the job productivity and
satisfaction, and that was done by teaching me how to interact and share ideas with others and be
cooperative and flexible when facing a problem even if under pressure. For instance, this course has
provided me with the basics of writing a formal email while being polite and respectful, which is pretty
useful in any type of work an individual might get enrolled in. Finally, this course has taught me how to
write a formal CV that describes my career, being also taught the rules of creating a cover letter when
applying for jobs.

Therefore, it could be clearly said that ENL 231 is a valuable and inspiring course that have
provided me with all the necessary knowledge regarding the work place by helping me become ready
and fit for it. It also helped me achieve the best form of myself by teaching me how to get along with
problems under different scenarios.
