Galaw Pilipinas Narrative Report


Exercising is only one form to contribute wellness to one’s body. Physical activities can
strengthen your bones and muscles, help you maintain a healthy weight, increase your ability to
carry out daily tasks and improve your cognitive health. Adults who spend less time sitting and
engaging in any level of moderate-to-vigorous exercise reap some health benefits. To promote
an active lifestyle among Filipinos, the Department of Education (DepEd) has launched the
Galaw Pilipinas, the Department's National Calisthenics Exercise Program that will be part of
the daily exercise routine in schools and community learning centers. Galaw Pilipinas is a four-
minute calisthenics routine that shall contribute to the 60 minutes of moderate to a vigorous
physical activity prescribed daily for children of 5-17 years of age.

Indeed, no one can go wrong in maintaining one’s health and strengthening one’s body
through exercise and of course discipline to one’s body. As they say “Health is a state of
complete harmony of the body, mind, and spirit.”
