At 3m11s you see that Rey resists and even has a glimpse of Kylo Ren's mind saying
that hes afraid of not becoming as strong as Darth Vader.

In the novel, this moment is emphasized a lot. In the film we just see it, but in
the novel Rey thinks about what happened and her thought process ends like this:
"If she could push him[Ren] out of her mind and enter his, what else could she do?
What might she be able to do with regard to someone else? Someone less skilled,
untrained in the ways of the Force? The single guard posted just inside the front
of her cell, for example?"(p22)
