THEME:
Voyage planning and excecution
GOAL:
Explain how to build up an simulation excercise; how to make a voyage planning; how to use
ECDIS based voyage planning for voyage excecution; assessment of students by instructors
RESULTS:
On completition of exercise student:
- Knows how to frame simulation excersise
- Knows basic requirements for ECDIS based voyage planning
- Is Able to make ECDIS based voyage planning on different user layers
- Is Able to excecute ECDIS based voyage planning
- Is Able to assess simulation excercise excecution
EXCERCISE DESCRIPTION / ANNEXES:
Excersise Area:
 Bosphorus Strait
 Own Ship (OS) – tanker
 Target Ships (TS) – in initial stage ca 10 targets, which influence OS navigation.
During simulation TS will be added by instructor.
Harjutuse käik:
 Brieifing (ca 5’) – excercise goals, navigation area, own ship
 Theory (ca 25’) – voyage planning basics
 Practical planning (60’) – voyage planning on ECDIS for each team
 Voyage excetuion (3 x 20’) – one team on main bridge, one team on secondary
bridge, one team assessing two other teams
 Debriefing (30’) – results of each teams to be assessed by check list
