sweets.

What will you need:

- 18 buckets for 6 buckets for each group

- Laminated food or play food

1. In front of each line of kids there will be 6 buckets all labeled as different parts of the food
pyramid.
2. Each group with have 30 laminated foods that they will have to correctly place in the buckets.
3. This will be done in a relay style the first child will grab a laminated food and must run and place
it in the correct bucket then run back for the next child to go. If the child doesn’t know what
bucket the food goes into, they can call back and ask the rest of their group to help.
4. At the end, the group with the most foods in the correct buckets has the strongest fireman
5. This game can be made harder by using all six buckets for the groups or only using a couple
buckets with younger kids.

Vegetables- carrots, peppers, broccoli, lettuce, and pumpkin

Activity 2: Escape the smoke

What will you need:

- A large white sheet or tarp

- The laminated or play food from the last activity

Way #1 to play

- All kids get a food, and they hold their food and the tarp
- You will call out a food group and those with that food group with go under the tarp (smoke)
and escape to the other side.
- Once you have gone through all the food groups have the kids trade food with each other to
keep the game going.

Way #2 to play

- Place 2 foods on top of the tarp (for instance a banana and a broccoli) and ask the kids to pick
the fruit
- Once the decide together which one is the fruit, they must work together to bounce the food off
the tarp. (This helps them learn together and work as a team to reach a goal)
