Online reviews: The Name of the Rose, by Umberto Ecco

The Name of the Rose is very exciting. The novel has few pages and tells a
crime story in the 14th century. However, the story is hard to follow
because it uses weirds historical references of the Middle Age, monks, the
Catholic Church or medieval heretical ideas (for example, the catharic and
manichaeans ideas). Although the story is quite complicated, it`s realistic
in its descriptions of places or characters, especially when talking about
William of Baskerville (William of Occam in real life). It`s an interesting
novel, i couldn`t put the book down all the night in my house. I
recommend it!
