Conclusion and Recommendation

There are two main source of error in measuring resistance using Analog Multi-
tester and Digital Multi-meter both as an Ohmmeter. These are human error and
instrumental error. The Analog Multi-tester has logarithmic scale which provides
inaccurate estimates on the reading especially the values on the far left of the scale
which are extremely compressed. Even in the resistor itself, errors occur due to the
fact that there are discrepancies in the manufacturing procedures of the resistor.
However, in this exercise the percent errors obtained are minimal, and some
readings on Analog Multi-tester correspond to zero percent error or have exactly the
same as those in the color code values. From the results obtained, both ohmmeters
are showing great reliability. Hence, in actual applications in the electrical wirings,
measuring the resistance using a Digital Multi-meter is more convenient because the
values can be read easily, and accurate at the same time.
