An unfair punishment

On a warm winters evening, Dutch and Micah were struggling on a mountain, trying to find shelter. After
committing a large-scale robbery that is what one has to do in order to escape from the lawmen. The
robbery was a total disaster, they weren’t able to carry any of the money that they stole so they had to
bury it underground. As the night approached them, they found an old hut. Dutch and Micah knocked
on the door, seeking hospitability. An elderly man opened the door and welcomed him inside the house.

Micah and Dutch both, rested on the couch whilst the old man prepared some coffee and introduced
himself as Arthur. Dutch seemed to enjoy his company Arthur took them to their rooms, underground.
Dutch and Micah were fascinated by the large rooms underground and Micah began to devise a wicked
plan as they laid in their warm beds. Dutch was delighted by Arthur’s hospitability and regarded him as a
kind man.

The following morning Micah told his plan to Dutch and after hesitating many times Micah was finally
able to persuade him. Dutch and Micah knew that the lawmen must have stopped searching for them so
they returned however before leaving they asked Arthur to prepare his basement as they were going to
being some fortune. This was to be a “reward” for Arthur for helping them but it was a way for them to
be able to hide their treasure in a large space in a house which was in the middle of nowhere.

Dutch and Micah returned took the money and stowed it on their horses then made their way back to
the old hut. When they returned, they stated their scheme and hid the treasure under one of the holes
under the carpet in the basement.

Dutch noticed a lawman behind a tree, who followed them. Before Dutch could capture him, he
escaped. Realizing that their plan failed and that it was likely that they won’t be able to escape with
their money as their horses were fixing their motors after the long journey. Dutch and Micah borrowed
Arthurs weak horse which was only able to carry the two, and moved on with their journey of being
outlaws.

Soon a crowd of lawmen surrounded the hut and arrested Arthur for the false accusation of the killing of
many lawmen during the robbery and ofcourse the main robbery. Tears flowed down Dutch’s face like a
waterfall whilst Micah did not seem to care. Soon they were attacked by the grizzly bear thus justice was
served. However, poor Arthurs unfair punishment was to continue until his death.
