Subject: Plumbing Product Standard ASSE 1072-2007

Action requested:
The division received the attached request for review and approve or disapprove of the ASSE
1072-2007 plumbing product standard for Barrier Type Floor Drain Trap Seal Protection
Devices.

Background:
On November 24, 2008, the division received a request from Mr. Daniel Cote’ to approve the
ASSE 1072-2007 product standard for the SureSeal trap seal protection device. Attached is a
copy of the request and the ASSE 1072-2007 standard for Barrier Type Floor Drain Trap Seal
Protection Devices.

Discussion:
The ASSE 1072-2007 product standard addresses new trap seal protection devices.

Alternatives:
The board has the following alternatives to consider:
Approve the product standard.
Disapprove the product standard.
Request more information.
