Belief Statement
Physical therapy has always been a part of my life, as an athlete, I experienced it
on a personal level while recovering from injuries and witnessing the positive
effects that it made in my career as an athlete. At the age of 26 I began working in
the Physical Therapy field as a Rehabilitation Aide at AthletiCo Physical Therapy in
which I began working closely with a Physical Therapist and a Physical Therapist
Assistant which guided me throughout my Student of Physical Therapy Assistant
career. While working at AthletiCo I was exposed to a variety of orthopedic
conditions and a diverse population of patients in which I noticed the positive effect
that Physical Therapy had in patients. While working at AthletiCo I realized that I
had found the career that would allow me to help people and eventually once
finished with my program I would be able to work with patients at a more
significant level and guide them through their physical therapy journey.

Becoming a Physical Therapist Assistant is a significant part of my personal goals,

helping and guiding patients with rehabilitative care to improve their physical
health and experiencing their success would be a very rewarding experience. The
co-workers I had were very professional and the best at making sure the patients
received the proper care. I loved being involved in that type of environment and I
wanted to be a part of a world that is so rewarding and placing the patients’ needs
before our own is the most important.

Caring for patients and experiencing patient’s success and interacting with the
Physical Therapy professionals at the clinic I work for reassured me that I wanted
to be a part of a helping profession and that is why I decided to become a PTA.

With the knowledge, experience, and skills I have gained these past several years I
anticipate that I will be able to provide caring, compassionate, and collaborative
care to patients, and their families so they can return to their prior level of
function!
