CULTURE OF DELIVER FOOD

One of the cultural values that exist in the Sentani tribe is the procession of delivering food. The
procession between food is one of the cultural values of the Sentani tribe that has been carried out
since the ancestors.

Delivering food is usually did at traditional parties such as dowry payment and the death of a leader or
Ondofolo in one of the villages in the Sentani tribe. This procession is also carried out not in random
villages, such as the Sereh village and the Ifar Besar village which have a close relationship in one bond.
The food items delivered include pork, rice, bananas, coconut and other food. This is done to help the
bereaved family to easily prepare food for the invited guests who come to the funeral place.

This culture is also very valuable for the Sentani tribal community and has become an obligation that
must be implemented. This culture was carried out to invite the young generation, especially the
Sentani tribe, to maintain these cultural values.
