INSTRUMENTATION - Bianco VDTEX

Bianco® INSTRUMENTATION is a complete range of components for optimal

control of processes.

Human-machine interface Bianco® VDTEX.

Industrial grade computer with keyboard and touch screen, designed to
be used in harsh environments, in presence of vibration, high temperatu-
re and/or humidity. It is equipped with self-configuring software and can
manage all electronic equipment of “SMART” series made by BIANCO.
Ambient temperature operational range from 0 to 60°C.

Optionals
VDTEXOPT-RctBASE) Basic recipe module. It allows you to create lists of commands associated with alphanumeric codes.
The command contain the identification of the machine which they are addressed to. Recipes can be created, edited, dele-
ted or called. When executed, commands are submitted to the machines and checked for successful execution. There are dif-
ferent levels of key that allow different permission level about configuration and operations on recipes. For example, to enable
activation of recipes while preventing accidental deletion, modification, creation. Recipe can also be temporarily modified for
contingent need, changes will be effective only once while still preserving original recipe.

VDTEXOPT-RctBKRST) Add-on for basic recipe module to manage backup/restore and sharing of recipe. Allows backup and
restore of the recipes to a remote database, where is possible to backup and recover configuration to/from database as nee-
ded.
This is also useful for a quick recover in the case a future substitution of the HMI will be needed, or just to synchronize recipes
between different machines.

VDTEXOPT-RctBCOD) Add-on for basic recipe module to manage bar code. Allows to connect a barcode reader to VDTEX com-
puter in order to save/restore recipe or to just execute the recipe with just one scan.

VDTEXOPT-DatBASE) Basic data collection module. It allows to select needed data from the available set of each machine con-
nected to VDTEX, with configurable alarm thresholds and customizable header informations to provide automatic generation
of PDF reports. Pages are stored by a ethernet connection on a FTP server. It is also possible to select metres of the report page.

VDTEXOPT-DatLOC) Add-on for basic data collection module to generate reports on local printer. This extra function allow to
generate reports not only in PDF but also to an USB printer connected to VDTEX computer. Double configuration is available for
PDF and paper report to achieve different kind of statistics, if needed.

VDTEXOPT-DatSQL) Add-on for basic data collection module for SQL database interfacing. This extra function allow recording of
needed informations of machines connected to VDTEX computer on a Microsoft SQL or MySQL. Data will be stored by customi-
zable time/metres logic and will be available for statistics performed by third-party software.

VDTEXOPT-DatCSV) Add-on for basic data collection module to manage .CSV files. As for basic module, data can be se se-
lected and automatically stored any specified time or metrage on a .CSV report through an Ethernet connection on an FTP
server. Statistics can be performed by third-party software.

VDTEXOPT-DatBCOD) Add-on for basic data collection module for bar code management. It allows users to create list of short
descriptions and to associate each of them to an alphanumerical code and a bar code. User can then recall codes using HMI
or a bar code reader connected to the VDTEX. All code called by operator are stored or printed by previous descripted modu-
les. This is useful, for example, to store causes about line stop or maintenance request codes.

VDTEXOPT-DatEXT) Add-on for basic data collection module to store data from third-party machines. Allow to configure ranges
and alarms for variables to read on third-party machines in order to include on other modules statistics or for visualization. De-
fault protocol used is Modbus RTU, other field protocols are to evaluate separately.

INSTRUMENTATION - Bianco STH
®

Bianco® INSTRUMENTATION is a complete range of components for optimal

control of processes.

BIANCO Thickness detector STH are systems to measure, without contact, the thickness of running tapes.

These sensors measure the thickness of tapes running in contact with a roller.
The measurement head consists of an eddy current sensor combined with an optical sensor, both on the same mechanical sup-
port. The eddy current sensor continuously measure the distance of the measurement head from the cylinder, while the optical
sensor measures the distance of the measurement head from the surface of the tape flowing on the cylinder. The difference
between the two measures provides the punctual thickness of the tape.
To increase the precision of the measure, the cylinder is made in aluminum covered with nichel by a galvanic process. In this
way the measure of the eddy current sensor is independent from the uniformity and the quality of the cylinder.
For the optical sensor, two solutions are available: the STHA1 use laser triangulation sensor, the STHB1 a curtain sensor with a CCD
detector.
The second solution (STHB1) requires that the tape lightly bend the cylinder as shown in the drawing.
If this is not possible, the STHA1 sensor allow the detection with the tape only tangent to the cylinder.

WEIGHTEX + Thickness detector

Talking of coating and hot melt processed, often, a certain quantity of dense material is applied on a textile support. The fabric
is made of woven threads and have its own porosity so that a quantity of applied material penetrate the fibers while a part re-
main on the surface and increase the thickness. For this reasons at the same thickness can correspond a different weight. Using
BIANCO Weightex combined with BIANCO thickness detector both variables can be take under control.
