ECOTHENE DPM

Damp Proof Membrane

DESCRIPTION
ECOTHENE DPM damp proof membrane or another generic industry name called polyethylene sheet is a
recycled material produced from petroleum based products. It commonly used in building and construction as
moisture-proof membrane to cover vital building materials and equipment at construction sites and as an
underlay for ground slab and footing, water pond, dam lining or as a roof protection sheet.

ECOTHENE DPM are a barrier through the structure designed to prevent moisture rising by capillary action such
as through a phenomenon known as rising damp. Rising damp is the effect of water rising from the ground into
property. It serve as under slab vapor barrier, retarding moisture from coming up through the concrete and into
the structure which in turn reduce the growth of fungus, mold and may even stop termite invasion. This product is
recyclable plastic material and therefore it is environmental and ecological friendly material.

ADVANTAGES
Foldable & formable
Translucent & light weight
Resistant to diluted acid or alkali
Resist Damage cause by water or rain
Fast & Easy application without heavy equipment
Protect most construction materials such like bricks, cement, marble, ceramic & others

AREA OF APPLICATIONS
As under slab vapor barrier to prevent moisture coming up through concrete and into the structure
As surface dust and damproofing material applied over concrete floor slabs before installing block and
strip flooring on screeds
As a covering for concrete both during and after curing to protects it from construction debris, mortar,
staining and abrasion from contact with men, materials or equipment
As a temporary enclosure to protect concrete work or other construction from wind, rain or froozing
temperatures
As a temporary glazing materiel during construction
As a flashing materiel for use around doors and windows
As a protective covering for equipment and materials stored in the open
